Description

ACS Alcohol Reference Solution

ACS Alcohol Reference Solution is a premixed alcohol solution for immediate use, eliminating the need to mix solution in the field. It is prepared for use in a breath alcohol simulator which is capable of controlling the solution temperature at 34 ± 0.02 °C.

Features:
Available in standard concentrations to provide alcohol breath test instruments with the following readings: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 110, 150, 200 and 400 mg/dL.

  • Preparation
    • Absolute ethyl alcohol (USP Grade) is mixed with distilled water to provide an analytical concentration predictive of the equivalent BAC. Solutions are prepared ±2% target value.
  • User-Friendly
    • When the user blows through the tube, the crystals change colour upon detection of alcohol. Results are ready in 2 to 4 minutes.
  • Analysis
    • Each batch of solution is independently analyzed by gas chromatography and is traceable to the NIST standard. A Certificate of Analysis is available upon request.
  • Bottling
    • The solution is bottled in high-density polyethylene bottles and closed with a poly seal cap. A neck seal is provided for integrity.

ALCOSIM™ Calibration Bench

ALCOSIM Calibration Bench is a multi‑stage calibration station that optimizes gas flow and the use of alcohol reference solution, eliminating human error and providing consistent simulated breath samples for the calibration of portable breath alcohol testers.

Features:

  • Multi-stage breath simulation
    • Three tandems of ALCOSIM breath alcohol simulators may be used with different concentrations of alcohol reference solution, calibrating a breath alcohol tester to a wide range of thresholds to accommodate varied operational requirements.
  • Adaptable
    • The adjustable test platform accommodates a variety of breath alcohol testers, including passive testers. The breath flow regulator controls the pressure and flow of the simulated breath sample, which may be adjusted to suit operational requirements.
  • Easy to use and maintain
    • Solid and sturdy, yet easy to assemble and disassemble, the ALCOSIM Calibration Bench is the most reliable, mobile calibration bench of its kind.

Technical Specifications:

  • Timer
    • 0-99 second with 2 decimal accuracy
  • Display
    • LED indicator
  • Air flow meter range
    • 4-20 L/m
  • Operating voltage
    • 2 dual 12 or 24 volt DC

ALCOSIM™

ALCOSIM is the easy and accurate way to calibrate or check-calibrate breath‑alcohol testing instruments. Carefully maintaining an alcohol reference solution, ALCOSIM produces an air-alcohol sample of precise concentration, equivalent to the calibration set point of the breath alcohol-testing instrument.

Features:

  • How it works
    • Equipped with a reference thermometer, ALCOSIM maintains the standard reference solution at mouth temperature (+34 °C ±0.02 °C) to simulate a human breath sample.
  • Easy to use
    • Once the green light indicates that ALCOSIM is at operating temperature, simply breathe into the inlet hose to produce an air-alcohol sample.
  • Built for lifetime use
    • Medical grade plastic and stainless steel provide chemical resistance and anti corrosion, while extensive internal sealing provides leak resistance.

Technical Specifications:

  • Accuracy
    • ±0.02 °C
  • Liquid Level
    • 500 mL
  • Time to ready
    • ≺ 12 minutes
  • Display
    • Graphic LCD
  • Recycle time
    • ≺ 5 seconds
  • Operating voltage
    • 110 or 220 volt

Metrological Test Bench

Designed to accommodate a variety of breath alcohol testing equipment for both evidential and screening purposes. The Metrological Test Bench replicates the human breath in order to verify, calibrate and certify alcohol testing products.

Features:

  • Multi-functional and customizable
    • Three tandems of ALCOSIM breath alcohol simulators may be used with different concentrations of alcohol reference solution, calibrating a breath alcohol tester to a wide range of thresholds to accommodate varied operational requirements.
  • Wet and dry calibration
    • In addition to the wet gas mixture, the Metrological Test Bench is configured to use dry mixtures, maximizing sample options.
  • Multiple device calibration
    • The Metrological Test Bench can be enhanced with a multiplexer for maximum efficiency. It allows up to 4 additional units to be serviced in sequence for high volume verification testing.
  • Highly sophisticated
    • Temperature remains consistent and accurate throughout the process when being transferred from the Metrological Test Bench to the breath alcohol tester.
  • Controlled temperature zones
    • Regulated zones inside the Metrological Test Bench ensure that the simulated breath sample is at a temperature comparable to a real human respiratory tract.

Technical Specifications:

  • Breath time
    • 2 to 30 seconds
  • Operating voltage
    • 220 V / 110 V 50 / 60 Hz
  • Display
